Greetings,

My name is Jesse, and I am an artist and photography student. I have spent much of my life making horrible mistakes and happy accidents. The consequences of those caused me to spend much of my life as a prisoner, whether that be to substances, institutions, or my own brain. However, they have all led me here, to this current moment in life as we know it. None of the things we’ve done in life can be taken back but they offer us a new perspective on the world. I find that art can be a great coping mechanism, and to be one of my passions in life that has never faded. The purpose of kvasir’s second nectar is to share not only my perspective but many others perspectives with those who love art. Kvasir is a norse god who was created from the saliva of the other gods. He wandered the realms sharing his great wisdom with all that he encountered and was eventually murdered. His blood was then mixed with honey to create the mead of poetry. The second nectar symbolizes second chances, and I hope to one day build this into something where others can share their experiences through art and find some redemption in life. I originally created this website for my brother and people like him, to work as a non-profit and help other prisoners showcase their art and give them a voice. I still have much to learn about photography and marketing but one day I hope to make this a space where people can cope and find some purpose in life.

More about me: I have a lot of strengths that I bring to the table, the three main ones are my creativity, my adaptability, and my compassion which doubles as my weakness. I am not an outwardly social person and will rarely seek out a conversation, but do come to love all the encounters I engage in. I like to keep it light, yet focused and while I love the input of others, I often am most productive on my own time. A blend of teamwork and individual goals is ideal. Currently my competencies backed by my school work are just the basics in photography, Adobe lightroom, and photoshop. As well as some biology and chemistry that is for my other personality. The majority of my actual skills come from life experience and practice. I did every art class my high school had to offer and have practiced in most 2D mediums physical and digital for the last eleven years since I graduated. It has been a coping mechanism as well as a passion for me. A few of my current goals are to complete my associates degree in photography as well as in laboratory science. Finish the editing for my children’s book and start marketing as a non-profit. Lastly, I am working on Social media pages and you’ll be able to find myself the personal services I offer as well as this website on platforms such as Instagram, pinterest, and TikTok.
